Cat Diarrhea After Food Change
Cat Question: my cat as had diahorra for about the last week
and a half and as gone off her food. I changed her food about 2
weeks ago could this be the course of the diahorra or do i need
to take her to the vets
thanks Julie
Hi Julie,
Sorry to hear about your cat.
Diet change can definitely cause diarrhea, but normally it
should resolve sooner than 10 days.
If possible I would mix some of her old food with the new
food and see if she eats that. Also try to heat up some
soft food. Warm food is more appetizing and smells better
which should help to stimulate the appetite.
Because she has had diarrhea for almost 2 weeks and seems to
have now deteriorate to not eating I would take her to the vet
clinic if she does not start eating soon because cats that do
not eat can be prone to liver problems and dehydration.
