Cat Clawed In Eye

Cat Question: I have 2 cats and apparantly they were playing and one of them got the other ones rear claw in his eye. Is there anything I can do for him without taking him to the vets? Will it hurt to use thera-tears in it? I think the eye is ok, but I am sure it is a bit sore. Thank you.

Hi George,

In general eyes heal very fast and sometimes putting something in it can do more harm than good.

I would wait and observe the eye for a while.  If your cat is blinking a lot or squinting then you need to see a vet.

Otherwise just observe it, eyes can heal quickly.
