Why is my Jack Russell Terrier defecating on the floor when my husband and I are spending intimate time together?

Dog Question: Why is my JRT defecating on the floor when my husband and I are spending intimate time together? She is six years old and has been house broke for many years. I never have this problem at any other time. I have tried giving her a treat to chew on to keep her occupied. I have also tried putting her in another room by herself, nothing seems to work. It seems that she is doing this out of spite for some reason. This behavior just started a few months ago out of nowhere.  This is not a joke, I am really desperate to correct this behavor.

Sorry to hear about this problem.  I have never heard of this happening before.

You could try and lock her up in a room at other times and give her treats, so she associates being locked in a room temporarily as a good thing, something that she'll receive treats for.

She is probably picking up on subtle clues about what is happening so if you retrain her to associate those with good things that behavior should stop.

As with any behavior modification it takes time to change.
