Great Dane has a large bump between her shoulder blades

Dog Question: Our 11 month old great dane has a large bump (4inches dia) between her shoulder blades. It appeared out of nowhere.  she is very active and had been playing with a couple dogs earlier in the morn, then we noticed the bump. It is right below where her collar is.  Any ideas?

A large bump that appears quickly could be a hematoma from trauma.  It is just a swelling of  blood that should resolve on its own.

It could also be a fatty mass, which sometimes develop on dogs as well, along with several other possibilities.

If it does not start to shrink or resolve in a few days then please have your vet examine it.
