Dog broke nail at park and it is still attached but not bleeding

Dog Question: MY LG DOG BROKE HER NAIL TODAY RUNNING AT THE PARK AND THE TIP IS STILL ATTACHED BUT DIDN'T SEEM TO BLEED. I CAN'T AFFORD TO TAKE HER TO THE VET TO HAVE IT FIXED.WHAT SHOULD I DO TO HELP HER?

Sorry to hear about your dog.

You could try and carefully trim the nail back, but be careful your dog might be painful.

Normally I would just remove the nail and bandage the foot if there is bleeding.

But since you are at home I would only trim enough of the nail back and keep a close eye on it.

It could bleed more so be careful if you dog goes on furniture.
