Cat had litter and now has runny yellow stool

Cat Question: feamle cat had a litter of 5 kittens 5 weeks ago, since giving birth she has very soft to runny yellow stool with a very strong foul oder. what causes this and is there something i can do for her ?

Since she has had this since giving birth it is most likely related to the stress of nursing.

Nursing that many kittens places a lot of metabolic demands on your cat so that is probably the cause of the soft stool.

If she is otherwise healthy I would just monitor her for now.  But if she is lethargic she should see a vet.

Feeding a plain and simple diet should clear things up, no treats, etc.

If the cat was not nursing I would say to reduce her diet, but since she needs all that energy we cannot.
