Black Lab Urinating In House Still After Being Sick

Dog Question: I have a black Labrador retriever he is almost 8 yrs.old. In the past 2 months he caught a virus with vomiting n the diarrhea. it went away, but when he was sick he started urinating in the house. well he got better and is still urinating in the house.I have him almost 3 yrs. and he never did this before. We know he's capable of letting us know because when you let him out he barks to come in.its about 1 to 2x a week and when he does it he looks at you when you find it he looks at you like i know i did wrong.and you say something to him and he acts like i know it was wrong.what can be some of the reasons he is doing this and how do we stop it?

 Hi Lacy,

Sorry to hear about your dog.

Dog training is not something I am an expert in.

If it was my dog I would take him out every few hours so he gets the hint and not wait for him to ask to go out.

By forcing him outside more frequently maybe he'll get the message.

If you have a crate you might try crate training him as well, but I've only done this with puppies.

It sounds like he maybe had parvo before, but this should not be affecting him now.  I think it is just a behavior problem.
