9 month old kitten hisses when my boyfriend goes near her, what can I do to stop this?

Cat Question: i just recently adopted a cat shes about 9 months old. when my boyfriend goes near her she hisses at him, she doesnt bite but she'll paw him and hiss at him, how can i stop this before it gets worse?

Sorry to hear about your cat.

Your cat may have been abused by a male before you adopted it which is why it does not like your boyfriend.

Have your boyfriend be the one to feed it and give it treats so it learns that he is someone that provides good things.

Basically you have to train your cat to accept him.  Slowly over the course of a couple of weeks have your boyfriend sit closer and closer to the cat.

Over time the cat should allow him to get closer and closer before it hisses and eventually it should accept him.

This is a somewhat common problem you have.
