8 yr old Lab mix has started getting nose bleeds in the evening, but during the day the nose bleeds don't appear.

Dog Question: I have a 8 yr old Lab mix who has started getting nose bleeds in the evening. During the day the nose bleeds don't appear. I know that changes in temperature and humidity can cause nasal bleeding, is there any immediate treatment we can administer?

Hi Chris,

Sorry to hear about your dog.

Increasing the humidity can help prevent nose bleeds if that is the cause.

Not to scare you, but nose bleeds in dogs are not that common and could be a sign of a more severe disease especially in an older lab.

If they continue after increasing the humidity I would see your vet.

There is nothing you can give the dog (home remedy) at home for nose bleeds other than changing the humidity.
