8 year old tabby cat that has not pooped in her liter box
for about a week which is not like her?
Cat Question: I have a 8 year old tabby cat that has not
pooped in her liter box for about a week which is not like her.
She has always been overweight and now I notice that she has
lost weight. She has peed in the litter box and is drinking her
water but she used to be a voracious eater and now is not. I am
feeding her Iams weight control cat food, which I have always
fed her Iams but not the weight control. she has only been
eating that for about 2 weeks. My question is the food keeping
her from pooping or is there an underlying issue?
Hi Vladi,
Sorry to hear about your cat.
You need to see a vet soon. If a cat has not pooped
recently it could have an impacted colon, which would require
an enema.
Also overweight cats that loose weight quickly could be
prone to liver problems which is why you should see a vet
soon.
I don't mean to scare you, but this sounds like it could be
a serious case.
