15 yr. old cat that is pull out his hair around his tail and on his hip

Cat Question: I have a 15 yr. old cat that is pull out his hair around his tail and on his hip. His skin looks ok with no dryness or fleas. what is your best advise?

Hi John,

The pattern of hair pulling is usually caused by fleas.  Are you sure there are no fleas?

Other possible causes could be stress (stress grooming) if there has been any changes in the household lately?

Other possibilities could be a urinary problem or food allergy.

If it does not stop please see a vet.
