13 yr old Cat Trouble Walking

Comment:: My cat is 13 & just recently has trouble walking. Sliding on front legs & tipping over on the back legs. He eats well, drinks well & moves his bowels well.(I have to put him in the litter box. He is alert & still talks to me. His name is Fred.

Sorry to hear about your cat.

With a mature cat like this it could be a number of things.  If he appears okay then I would wait and take him to the vet tomorrow.

If you feel the toes on his hind feet and they are ice cold you should see a vet sooner, but I don't think this is the case.

Sometimes a metabolic problem can lead to this, like diabetes or possibly a kidney problem.

There are other possible causes some of them very easy to cure.

Take him to the vet tomorrow for an exam.  In the meantime provide supportive care in terms of providing water, soft food, or whatever he likes to eat to keep him hydrated.
