12 yr old Austrailian Kelpie Mix Spasms

Dog Question: Hi, I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who doesn't have internet access.
She has an 11/12 year old Australian Kelpie mix called Jink who has a variety of symptoms that their Vets can't explain, so haven't been able to help with.
His symptoms include leg spasms, tongue flicking (in & out, in & out, etc.), and feet (the soles) licking (he's needed to be in an E collar for weeks, otherwise he licks the skin off).
According to his chiropractor, he has also damaged his Sympathetic Nerve.
His diet hasn't changed at all, but if you need to know specifics or any other things, please ask and I'll find out.
I'm really hoping for ideas that can be shared with Jiordan's vets in the hope that we can ease his discomfort.

Sorry to hear about your friends dog.

To me it sounds like a possible case of a toxicity.

Has the dog been exposed to any chemicals or anything with lead in it?

Also, in America there are ticks that can cause similar problems.

Is it possible the dog was bitten by something?

Does the dog go outside at all or is he an indoor only dog?
