10 yr old beagle dog when you look inside her one nostril it appears white in color, why?

Dog Question: our 10 yr old beagle dog (female) has an issue with her nose.  when you look inside her one nostril it appears white in color.  we thought it might just be cold and it would go away but it hasn't.  there is not anything lodged in her nose. the other side of her nose is black as it should be.  what could this be?

This could be a number of things.

It could simply be an area that is not pigmented.  Or it could be sign of something more severe like a fungal infection or neoplastic growth.

Being an older dog and since it has not gone away please see your vet soon.
